Here at Turvey Australian Shepherds we enjoy meeting our buyers and prefer that they pick up their puppy in person. Unfortunately, many people are simply unable to make the trip. In those instances we can sometimes deliver or meet you part way. Please understand that when we do this, there will be charges for our expenses.
Here is a list of items that you may want to bring when picking up your puppy:
#1 WET WIPES: Puppies can have accidents or can become car sick until they are used to riding in a car so bringing wet wipes is important. I also recommend some paper towels and plastic bags.
#2 CRATE: A crate can help contain him/her and make a safer ride. It can also help prevent your puppy from having an accident or becoming car sick in your car. It is much easier to clean out a crate than a car seat. Keep in mind that it is unlikely that a laundry basket will keep your puppy contained, they can usually climb right out of it unless you have someone to help out :) Also, when choosing a crate, keep in mind that your puppy will grow fast. Getting a smaller crate is less expensive and if you do not plan to continue to use the crate, it will be fine. However, if you do plan to continue to use a crate it would be a good idea to get a big one so that you dont have to spend extra money buying a second one after your puppy outgrows the little one.
# 3 WATER: Depending on the distance you are traveling, it is a good idea to bring water with you. You will also need a small bowl for your puppy to drink from.
#4 COLLAR & LEASH: If you are traveling very far to return home with your puppy, bring a collar and leash so that your puppy can take bathroom breaks. You do not want your puppy running into traffic while its on a bathroom break.
